Our shipping costs are increasing on 1 September

A priority for me with running Betty & Leroy is to keep prices fair and affordable for you. This includes keeping the prices of our stock reasonable and making shipping costs for you as low as I can.

But sadly, shipping has been getting more and more expensive. I've always charged less for shipping than what the courier actually costs me, but in 2025, I'm paying on average $12-15 to ship every online order in the North Island, and $15-25 for orders in the South Island.

I've considered switching to other courier companies, but the costs are similar, and I stick with NZ Post as they are the most reliable for me locally. One of the other courier companies that is slightly cheaper takes 7-10 days to pick up parcels in our suburb and that's just unfair to me and you!

Plus, the shipping costs mentioned above don't even include the cost of courier bags, labels, and other packaging costs.

I've tried to hold off for as long as I can, but for the first time since 2021, our shipping costs are increasing.

Our new prices are below and will be implemented from 1 September:

  • $6 within the Wellington region
  • $9 outside of Wellington
  • minimum spend for free shipping will increase to $100.

I'll also be sending orders under $35 by economy, so they may take 3-4 business days to arrive rather than overnight but will still be fully tracked.

These increases are small, but will make a HUGE difference for me, so thank you for being on board for this.

And thank you everyone for your ongoing support! Running Betty & Leroy gives me so much joy and it's so great to have you on this journey with me.
